The Ferretto Group has constructed an earthquake-resistant pallet racking system suitable for storing products of various sizes and designed to serve both the production and the shipping department of the Coc Farmaceutici plant in Rovereto sulla Secchia (MO).

Coc Farmaceutici has always stood out for its propensity for innovation and, thanks to its ongoing Research & Development activities, it successfully adapts the characteristics of products to the market needs, with the aim of always offering state-of-the-art solutions to its customers. For this reason, the company has relied on the experience of the Ferretto Group to review the logistical structure of its Rovereto sulla Secchia plant.

In a total area of 3,000 m2, the Ferretto Group designed and built pallet racking for both the production department and the shipping area. The structure, consisting of 5 load levels served by electric pallet jacks and retractable forklifts, has a maximum capacity of 2,270 pallets and is equipped with a third beam for maximum storage flexibility and easier management of load units with different formats, weights and dimensions. In order to ensure maximum safety for both goods and personnel, the racks were designed and built according to the anti-seismic regulations in force and equipped with special mesh guards in the areas at risk for falling materials.

Solution:
  • Seismic-resistant pallet racking served by retractable forklifts and electric pallet jacks with 3 and 5 load levels and a total storage capacity of 2,270 ULs
Technical characteristics:
  • In compliance with seismic regulations, the following solutions were adopted during the design process: 1. High-performance materials such as special steels were used. 2. All structures were anchored to the floor with chemical anchors composed of a threaded bar and resin. 3. All beams were bolted. 4. Cross bracing was provided at each level
  • Third beams were used for the frames in order to increase flexibility and safety
