New Box is a leading Italian company which for more than 50 years has been producing food and beverage metal packaging solutions for companies around the world. With a workforce of 200 in 3 production plants totaling 85,000 m2, New Box has always pursued innovation, rigorous controls on all aspects of production, and research and development in all relevant areas. All this to achieve a single important goal: rethink each solution to continue improving it.
New Box turned to the Ferretto Group to reorganize its finished product warehouse in order to serve the markets with maximum flexibility together with a prompt and reliable service. There were two main needs to be met:
- synchronize production with customer requests
- increase the speed of order preparation and truck loading operations.
To meet New Box's requirements, the Ferretto Group proposed a reorganization of the warehouse storing the finished product on a multi-depth pallet racking system. This structure would also be supported by Flexy shuttles. This is, in fact, the ideal solution for moving pallets in the loading channel up to the edge of the structure without using forklifts.
Overall, the warehouse designed by the Ferretto Group ensured excellent optimization of space, thanks to the multi-depth seismic-resistant racking, capable of storing up to 17 pallets in any given loading channel. The Flexy shuttle also enables the company to quickly and safely manage orders consisting of large quantities of material with few different codes. All this in line with an Industry 4.0 perspective. Indeed, Flexy is equipped with management software developed in house by the Ferretto Group which is interconnected to the company's ERP and thus enables real-time inventory control.
